Clogged Drain Repair
Are gurgling toilets and slow drains disrupting your daily routine? We clear stubborn blockages and get your household plumbing flowing smoothly again.

What should you do when plunging won't clear a clogged drain?
When plunging and chemical gels won't clear a clogged drain, the blockage is deep in the line. It needs a professional diagnosis, not more chemicals that can harm the pipe.
Is dirty water pooling around your ankles in the shower, or are you hearing an ominous gurgle from the toilet every time you run the bathroom sink? When plunging and harsh chemical gels fail to clear the blockage, you are dealing with a deep obstruction that requires professional intervention before raw sewage backs up into your home. High Seas Plumbing is ready to find exactly what is choking your pipes, remove it, and get your household running smoothly again.
What are the signs a Tampa Bay home needs professional drain repair?
A Tampa Bay home needs professional drain repair when clogs keep returning, several drains back up together or fixtures gurgle. High Seas diagnoses the cause instead of blindly snaking the line.
The Fixture Cross-Talk Gurgle
You run the bathroom sink, and the toilet bubbles, or you flush the toilet, and water begins to back up into the bathtub. This cross-talk happens because your drainage system relies on atmospheric air to push wastewater down the line. When a heavy clog blocks the main pipe, the displaced air has nowhere to go but backward, forcing its way up through the water traps in your other fixtures.Multiple Slow Drains at Once
An isolated slow drain in the guest bathroom usually means a local blockage, like a knot of hair trapped in the P-trap just below the sink. However, if your kitchen sink, laundry drain, and guest shower are all draining sluggishly at the exact same time, the problem is not at the fixture level. The blockage is sitting deep in your home's main sewer line, acting as a dam for every single drop of water trying to leave your house.Persistent Sewage Odors Indoors
Your plumbing is designed with U-shaped traps that hold a small amount of water to block hazardous sewer gases from entering your home. If a heavy clog creates a vacuum effect in your pipes as water struggles to drain, it can siphon the water right out of those traps. Once the trap is dry, raw sewer gas drifts freely into your living space.Chemical Drain Cleaners Have Stopped Working
Homeowners often rely on jug-chemicals to clear minor slowdowns, but if you have treated the drain and the water is still pooling, you have moved past a simple hair clog. At this point, the chemicals are just sitting on top of a solid mass of grease, scale, or tree roots. Instead of dissolving the blockage, these highly corrosive liquids sit there eating away at the pipe itself, accelerating the deterioration of your plumbing infrastructure.Raw Sewage Backing Up Into Tubs
When wastewater cannot make it to the municipal sewer or your septic tank, it will always seek the path of least resistance to escape the pipe. Because your bathtubs and standalone showers sit lowest to the floor, they act as the primary relief points for a backed-up main line. Seeing dark, foul-smelling water rising into your shower pan is a severe warning sign that your main drain is completely impassable. What Is Actually Blocking Your Pipes?
What blocks pipes in older homes is often scale from rusting cast iron, not just grease or hair. A camera inspection shows which one you are dealing with before any repair is quoted.
Cast Iron Scale Buildup in Older Slab Homes
In older slab-on-grade homes across the region, cast iron drains are a massive vulnerability. Over decades of use, the protective tar coating inside these pipes wears off, exposing the raw iron to water and pushing the system into an expedited deterioration stage. The pipe begins to actively rust, creating jagged, flaky scale buildup that catches every piece of toilet paper, grease, and debris that flows past.Pipe Bellies from Ground Shifting
Our local sandy soil and heavy storm seasons cause the ground beneath your home to constantly shift and settle. When the earth moves, the drain pipes buried under your yard or concrete slab can sag, creating a low spot known in the trade as a pipe belly. Water and heavy solids flow into this dip and just sit there, unable to fight gravity to get out the other side, eventually stacking up until the pipe is completely choked off.Hard Water and Soap Scum Sludge
Our region is known for highly chlorinated, very hard water that wears plumbing out materially faster than in other parts of the country. When calcium-heavy water mixes with everyday bath soaps and kitchen grease, it creates a thick, sticky sludge that coats the inside of your pipes. This is not a loose blockage you can easily plunge away, because it hardens like concrete against the pipe walls and gradually shrinks the inner diameter of the drain.Improperly Supported Drains in New Builds
It is not just older homes that suffer from chronic clogs and drainage failures. In many of the newer housing developments popping up across the area, rushed construction means drain lines under the slab were not properly supported with the correct backfill before the concrete was poured. The pipes settle and bow almost immediately, leading to severe drainage failures in homes that are only a few years old. What happens when High Seas clears a clogged drain?
When High Seas clears a clogged drain, the visit includes a whole-home plumbing inspection at no extra charge, and the diagnosis comes before any cable goes down the pipe.
We will tell you what you need, and what you don't. When High Seas Plumbing arrives at your home, we do not just start blindly snaking a cable down your pipes and hoping for the best. Every service call includes a whole-home plumbing inspection at no extra charge, because a clogged drain is often a symptom of a larger systemic issue. Most homeowners do not know that their supply lines and drain lines are two entirely separate systems with separate failure modes, and teaching you how your house works is a genuinely useful part of our visit.
We believe in evidence-led diagnosis, meaning we confirm before we sell. If we suspect your drain is failing, we put a camera down the line and show you the screen. We look for three specific things: active rust at the vent, channeling where the bottom of the pipe is thinning out from water flow, and scale buildup where the pipe is actively falling apart. There is a massive difference between a professional diagnosis and an educated guess, and we make sure you see the proof of your pipe's condition with your own eyes.
Once we know exactly what we are dealing with, we provide upfront, flat-rate pricing with no hidden fees. We do not charge a diagnostic fee or an estimate fee, and we offer second opinions at no charge. Because our residential-only, veteran-owned crews carry fully stocked trucks, we can usually resolve the issue right then and there with our same-day service. Financing is also available to ensure you can get your home flowing again without unnecessary stress.

Comprehensive Drain and Sewer Care
When a clog is a warning sign of a dying drain system, the fix goes beyond clearing it. High Seas walks you through repipe and lining options if the camera shows advanced deterioration.
Sometimes a clog is just a temporary traffic jam, but other times it is a glaring warning sign of a dying system. If our camera inspection reveals that your pipes are in the expedited deterioration stage, we will walk you through options for repipes and lining before a catastrophic collapse occurs, because lining is only a viable option while the pipe is still structurally standing. If the pipe is intact but heavily coated in grease and hard-water sludge, we may discuss water treatment options to address the high chlorine and hard water that caused the failure in the first place.
Stop Fighting Your Drains
You have plunged, you have poured chemicals, and you have dealt with the mess and frustration long enough. If your drains are backing up, smelling foul, or refusing to clear, it is time to stop guessing and get professional eyes inside the pipe.
We will find the root cause, show you exactly what is happening on the camera screen, and give you the honest options to fix it permanently. Reach out to High Seas Plumbing today to schedule your drain inspection and get your home's plumbing back on track.
Questions we get
Clogged Drain Repair — questions we get
Why does the same drain keep clogging?
Because cabling clears the blockage but leaves the coating on the pipe wall. Kitchen lines in particular close up gradually with grease. If a line clogs two or three times a year, it needs cleaning — hydro-jetting back to bare pipe — rather than clearing again.
Is a chemical drain cleaner a bad idea?
Generally, yes. It rarely clears a real stoppage, it damages older pipe and gaskets, and it leaves caustic liquid standing in the line for whoever opens it next. Mechanical clearing is safer and actually solves it.
More than one fixture is backing up — is that different?
Yes, and it matters. A single slow fixture is usually a branch line. Multiple fixtures backing up, or a tub that gurgles when the toilet flushes, points at the main or a blocked vent. We go in through the proper cleanout and camera it afterwards so you know which one you have.
